Meet the Author!
Visit us on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Studio Moonfall from 4pm to 7pm to meet Horror/Paranormal Author, Scott Burtness.
Hang out at the shop and take a peek inside their book, An Oracle Walks into a Bar:
Messy breakup? Want your stuff back from your ex? Shapeshifter August Shade can help. Satisfaction not guaranteed.
After saving the world, the cranky repo man heads to farm country for one little job. Now he’s far from his natural habitat and mixed up with two feuding hag sisters, a loan sharking coblyn, and a mysterious woman with a very scary ex. The manure hits the fan when his best friend blows the lid off a major conspiracy and lands August in a heap of trouble.
As his efforts to keep a low profile fall apart, August learns–quite literally–that you reap what you sow. It’s life or death for the repossession specialist, and the scales keep tilting toward the latter. If it weren’t for bad luck, August Shade would have no luck at all.

And here’s something from the author:
I love horror and paranormal comedy. You want Dawn of the Dead? I want Dawn, Dishsoap of the Dead. You want Children of the Corn? I want Children of the Cornball. That’s why I don’t write about vampires and shapeshifters and aliens. I write about bowling vampires. Shapeshifters that will get your stuff back from your ex after a messy breakup. Aliens that love visiting the State Fair.
Are my books any good? Well, Sam J. Jones once spit on the cover of Wisconsin Vamp at a comic book convention. While it was ostensibly an accident, I remain convinced it was Sam’s way of showing high praise.
I am a born-and-raised Minnesotan that now lives in northeastern Wisconsin. I took to writing fiction as an excuse to hang out in bars by myself and not look weird. If you’re by yourself, you look sad and lonely. If you’re working on a laptop, you look like a highly productive member of society. Anywho…
Wrapped in flannel and raised on 80’s sitcoms, Monty Python, Douglas Adams and B-horror flicks, my books blend wry humor and supernatural thrills into otherwise-mundane Midwestern life.
See you from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Studio Moonfall, 5031 7th Avenue with Scott Burtness!
