Cut the Line is a Books-for-Marketing barter service at Studio Moonfall – 10 copies of your book in trade for a year of marketing along with a handful of evergreen promotions.

We limit Cut the Line Submissions to 180 per year to limit our featured social media posts to 6 per day, helping to make sure that your book stands out to our audience. Plus, we’ll be sure to tag your Facebook page so that you can show off that you’re featured in an indie bookstore!
Submission Requirements/Preferences
Although the store has a haunted bookshop/fantasy vibe, we accept all genres of indie books!
Of course, we want our customers to get the best experience while reading your books, so be sure to check out our Quick Tip Guide to make sure your book is the best it can be before hitting the shelves.
Requirements:
• Fill out your Author Profile and Book Submission info.
• Indie authors and small press only! This ain’t no Barnes & Noble here.
• Send in or drop off 8 copies of your book once accepted into Cut the Line. If you’re not a local author, the easier way is to order author copies from your printer and ship them directly to Studio Moonfall. Just be sure to let me know they’re on the way!

Preferences:
• Titles should have an MSRP of $15-20 USD. If your book costs less than that, still reach out. We’re flexible!
• Availability through Ingram with a full retail discount set (53-55%) so that we can easily refill our inventory. If not, we’ll have to reach out directly to you when we need more stock.
To get your book to Cut the Line:
1. Fill out the AUTHOR PROFILE page. If you’ve done this in the past, skip this step.
2. Fill out the BOOK SUBMISSION page and mark that you’re interested in joining Cut the Line in trade for 10 copies of your book. If you’ve already filled out the submission page for your book, reach out through the main Contact page.
3. We’ll contact you with our next available opening for when we can accept the books and will send mailing address for Studio Moonfall.
4. Send us your books! The EASIEST way to do this is to put in an order on KDP for Author Copies and have them shipped directly to Studio Moonfall.
Benefit Details
• Author Alley Profile Page – Your profile page includes your author bio, videos, links to your book on online distributors, and more as we expand this part of Cut the Line. For examples, check out some of our features authors across various genres at www.studiomoonfall.com/authoralley.
• In-Store Photo Series (including Mr. Nanners, our marketing gorilla!) – This set of 12 photos will be part of a year-long promotion of your book with posts going up each month. You’ll be sent the in-store photos for your own promotional uses, as well.
We only accept a maximum of 15 titles per month for Cut the Line so that don’t overdo postings on our social media and are better able to make sure your book stands out.
• Book Description Video – starring Studio Moonfall’s Robot Librarian, Bookley. Videos are posted to the Studio Moonfall YouTube channel and then shared on an ongoing rotation indefinitely, beyond the one year duration of the in-store photo posts.
• In-store Promotions – Each week, we highlight six books from Cut the Line on an ongoing rotation. Our shoppers get 10% off your book and we’ll make sure to keep it in stock for the entire year of your Cut the Line duration (and linked to online indefinitely). These books are also featured in our weekly email newsletter.
• Inclusion in our Bookshop.org expanded catalog as long as your title is available through Ingram. Bookshop.org is an incredible service supporting independent bookstores. How cool is that?!
And if you have an audiobook available on LibroFM, we’ll link to that on your profile page, too!
*** Special bonus benefit – Cut the Line authors that are available to do our Kenosha Book Festival throughout the summer will be notified about signing up prior to the general public in case you want to be a vendor.
