Debra Oas is the accomplished author behind the captivating series of Cryptid Murder Mysteries. Her five published fictional novels include: “Sinister Bay,” (2019); “Whitewater Witch,” (2022); “Mountain Walker,” (2023); “The Rune Stone Curse,” (2024) and “Coastal Menace,” (2025).
The books follow the adventures of cryptozoologist, Wolfgang Kilmer and a cast of peculiar characters. Every story weaves an intricate tale of not only murder, but mythical cryptid creatures. Each novel is set in a different intriguing locale. Sinister Bay set on the wild shores of Lake Superior; Whitewater Witch in the eerie supernatural backdrop of Whitewater, Wisconsin, (nicknamed Second Salem); Mountain Walker in the rugged mountains of Colorado; The Rune Stone Curse in the farm country of Northern Minnesota and Coastal Menace on the beaches of North Carolina.
Debra has a background in journalism and freelance writing for various magazines and publications. Her storytelling also includes a series of children’s books; “Dachsie Tales” for young readers at the 3rd or 4th grade level. She spent more than 25 years as an Aquatic Director, but has now returned to her first love: writing.
