James “The Geek” Pearson is a passionate game designer, author, and creator with a knack for bringing innovative tabletop RPG experiences to life. With multiple RPG projects under his belt, he has successfully crowdfunded and fulfilled games that push the boundaries of storytelling and mechanics.
His recent achievements include the successful crowdfunding and fulfillment of Psi-Kids RPG on GameOnTabletop—an inventive role-playing game based on Lester Smith’s Bookmark No HP RPG, uniquely presented as a deck of cards. The project encompassed a Core Deck, Game Host Deck, Player’s Booster Deck, a Playing Card Adventure Log, and two additional adventure decks. Following that success, James launched Tales from the Terror Tomb™ on Kickstarter, further solidifying his reputation in the indie RPG scene.
Beyond these titles, James has adapted Dr. Cushing’s Chamber of Horrors—a role-playing game based on Stephen Sullivan’s novel—utilizing the first edition rules of Lester Smith’s D6xD6 system. Demonstrating his dedication to game design, he challenged himself to produce four complete boxed games (including rules, adventures, and maps) within four months, all using the Bookmark No HP RPG framework.
In addition to game design, James has authored three non-fiction books on IT and cybersecurity, ghostwritten a cybersecurity book, and published two settings for D6xD6: Noir Vigilantes – The Justice Chamber! and the first edition of Tales from the Terror Tomb™.
With an ever-expanding portfolio of unique RPGs and a love for game design experimentation, James continues to push creative boundaries, crafting immersive experiences for players and storytellers alike.
